1. Insert plain rod into rod with coupling (note: light pressure may be used, such as tapping with a wooden or rubber mallet). Once coupled; rods should be left as one piece. They may be disassembled but use extreme care not to damage fiberglass rods.
2. Insert coupled rods into shade cover side pockets.
3. Insert coupled rod into 5/16 inch hole on the cross tube. Push about 20 inches of the rod through the cross tube until only 1 inch of the rod is exposed on the opposite end (this can be done by holding cross tube and pushing the rod from the opposite end). Insert the 1 inch of rod into the adjacent 5/16 inch hole in the cross tube. Adjust shade to where 2 inches of rod is exposed (again, this can be done by holding the cross tube and pushing the rod from the opposite end). This will be the end you will attach to the adjusting straps.
4. Go back to #3 and repeat this process on the other side of the shade. For this video we will assume this process is complete.
5. Adjusting straps may now be attached to the Shade to Go by firmly inserting cap onto the fiberglass rod tip.
6. Install the Shade to Go seatpost adapter or universal adapter using nuts, washers and bolts supplied. Refer to diagram A.
7.Install the Shade to Go on the seatpost adapter or universal adapter. Simply insert the long side of exposed rod into provided sockets.
8. Adjusting straps may now be attached to handlebars or handgrips (wheelchairs or walkers)by the Velcro straps supplied. Gently bend rods down and attach to handle bars.
9. Using the quick slides on the adjusting straps, adjust the Shade to Go for sun conditions and heighth of rider.
